Clatsop Co's Darkest Day Since 1980: Voter Apathy

The Day The County Died

THEY CAME FIRST for the Industrialists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't an Industrialist.

THEN THEY CAME for the Loggers,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Logger.

THEN THEY CAME for the Gill Netters,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Gill Netter.

THEN THEY CAME for the Dairy Farmers,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Dairy Farmer.

THEN THEY CAME for the Longshoremen,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Longshoreman.

THEN THEY CAME for the land owners,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a land owner.

THEN THEY CAME for the business owners,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a business owner.

THEN THEY CAME for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

THEN THEY CAME for the Nut Cases and "You know who" didn't answer the door

Yep, McGee never leaves that gaudy natural gas heated home of his with all the fake ivy inside. Pat you invite people to call you, why won't you answer the door when people knock?

LOL! McGee doesn't even know what he implied.

Somebody wanna refresh my memory as to 1980? What happened, the volcano?

Yep, May 18, 1980 the THE volcano blew and blackened the sky and ash fell blanketing the area. I have a vial of it scraped off the sidewalk somewhere around here.

You are a bright spot on an otherwise dreary day, McGee. Thank-you for taking your comedy routine on the road so often. You play it so well on all of the forums. Who the heck pays you to spend so much time on the computer entertaining people? I didn't realize we had a comedy philanthropist.

Oh he is totally sustainable non profit. He does it for free.

It's his underwhelming level of committment to boldly serve as one of the sheeple who just bleats back out what was bleated to him by his heros like Forester and all the little pooh bah antis-aka as people who have moved here recently and figure everything should be done according to them. McGee's nothing-just really some housebound old senile nutjob who gets his kicks playing mr bigshot know it all on the local message forums. Like he's some big authority on what kind of jobs people should have and what the public should spend money on. Hell, he was the guy a few years back who was trying to sell somebody-(city, county?) the gutwrenching need and the wonderful benefits of a goddamn ice rink! He even had some drawings of the floorplan or something he snagged off the web and is ready to sell to the county. What a shameless self serving tool.

And you still respond to it, still.

And a County Ice Arena/Multi-Use Community Center that provides benefit for all ages in our county?

Why not?

You say it provides benefit, but you don't back it up with anything to even attempt to qualify such a statement. And who is going to pay for it's construction and management, you?

This Would Be The Model

Saw the story of them coming for the dairy farmer in Scappose. You think Rohn made a deal with them so they'd leave his dairy farm alone?

Is his farm near a creek, river, pond or body of water?

Your articles are the best!
Just to long before new ones!

What if Bradwood would have been built without all of the delays? Astoria would probably have gotten a new fire boat by now. Sure would have come in handy last week.
